Your move journey

Your move, one calm step at a time

No move is really four neat boxes — but it helps to know roughly how ours runs. Here’s the shape of it, from the first chat to the last box unpacked.

  1. 01

    Plan

We talk it through — rooms, access, dates you have in mind — and send a written quote. No pressure to book.

  2. 02

    Pack

We bring the boxes and materials. Pack yourself, or leave it to us, room by room and clearly labelled.

  3. 03

    Move

On the day the crew arrives, loads carefully, and takes a sensible route — whether that’s round the corner or down to the coast.

  4. 04

    Settle

Everything placed where you want it, beds rebuilt, and a last check together before we head off.

Why Edmonton Removals

Local hands, an unhurried manner

We’re an Edmonton removals company through and through — we know the terraces off Fore Street, the estates around the Green, the newer blocks toward Ponders End, and the parking that comes with each. That local knowledge is half the job on moving day.

The other half is manner. Moving is stressful enough without a crew rushing you or a quote you can’t make sense of. We work at a steady pace, keep you in the loop, and write everything down so there are no surprises. When a move reaches further — to France, Italy, Spain or Portugal — the same calm approach travels with it.

Settle-in guide

A gentle hand for your first week in Edmonton

The move is only half of it — the other half is finding your feet. These are the practical things worth ticking off once the van’s pulled away, gathered from moving families in and around Edmonton over the years.

Sort the council side first

Edmonton sits in the London Borough of Enfield, so your council tax, bins and electoral roll are all handled by Enfield Council.

  • Tell Enfield Council you’ve moved so your council tax account follows you to the new address
  • Register to vote at your new home on the GOV.UK electoral register — quick to do online
  • Update the address on your driving licence and log book, and re-register with a local GP and dentist

Bins, recycling and the practical bits

Collection days vary street to street across N9, N18 and EN3, so it’s worth checking yours before the first week creeps up on you.

  • Look up your collection day and which bins go out by postcode on the Enfield Council website
  • Order or request bins and food-waste caddies through the council if the property is missing any
  • Note the nearest recycling point for the flattened boxes we leave behind after the move

Getting around Edmonton

Edmonton is well connected — but the A406 North Circular and Fore Street (A1010) both get busy, so a little local knowledge saves a lot of standing still.

  • Edmonton Green and Silver Street stations run into Liverpool Street on the London Overground
  • Frequent buses head down Fore Street to Tottenham and up toward Enfield and Ponders End
  • For the M25 and the north, the A10 and A406 link up quickly once you’re past the busy stretches

Finding your feet locally

A new area feels like home faster once you’ve found the everyday places. Edmonton has plenty within a short walk of most homes.

  • Edmonton Green shopping centre and market cover the weekly shop and the odd repair
  • Pymmes Park and the Lea Valley give you green space and river paths on the doorstep
  • Check the catchment for local primary and secondary schools early if you’ve children moving with you

Anything property-specific — parking suspensions, lift bookings, awkward access — is easier sorted before the day. Pop it in the notes when you ask for a quote and we’ll plan around it.

Good to know

Edmonton removals — the common questions

Do you cover the whole of Edmonton?

Yes — all of it. Edmonton Green and Lower Edmonton (N9), Upper Edmonton and Angel Edmonton (N18), and out to Ponders End (EN3). Most of our home moves are within a few streets or a short drive, so we know the terraces off Fore Street and the estates around the Green well.

Can you handle a move on a narrow street or with no parking?

Usually, yes. A lot of Edmonton is Victorian terrace with tight kerbside parking, and the newer flats can mean a shared bay or a lift. Tell us the access at both ends when you get in touch and we’ll plan the van and the crew around it — including arranging a parking suspension with the council if one’s needed.

Do you only do local moves, or further afield too?

Both. Day to day we’re a North London removals company, but we also run a European arm from Edmonton — route-planned moves to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, with the customs paperwork handled for you.

Will you pack for me, or do I do that myself?

Whichever suits. Some people want the whole home packed and labelled; others just want a hand with the kitchen and the fragile bits and do the rest themselves. We bring proper materials either way — see the packing options on our services page.

What if my moving-out and moving-in dates don’t line up?

It happens more than you’d think. We can fold storage into the move so your things sit in a clean, dry unit for the in-between weeks, then bring them on when the new place is ready.

How do I get a quote?

Tell us a little about the move — rooms, access, where you’re headed — on our quote form. We’ll read it and reply by email with a written quote. There’s no obligation, and no need to decide on the spot.

Ready when you are

Tell us a little about your move and we’ll send a written quote — no pressure, no obligation, and no need to decide today.
